Irland outmach championship in the First European Univerities Golf Championship

Algarve held off last weekend the First European Golf  Championship for Univerity students. The event occured between the 1st and the 7th, Setembre, in Lagoa, Algarve, with the participation of more tha 50 students.

With the support of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) and the Academic Federation for University Sport in Portugal (FADU), the Students Union of the University of Algarve was the one responsable for the organization of all the event.


The champeonship included all categories, from singles to teams competitions, and also for both sexes. The final results can be seen below this article.


Portugal leaves with the bronze medal in the category of 'European Universities Ladies Singles Cup', won by the student Michalina Valaskova from University of Minho.
The country that has patently won more prizes in three other categories was Ireland, taking 4 prizes. Nothern Ireland was not so bad either, taking 3prizes, including the Team Net Award.

The First European Univerities Golf Championship held 14 faculties from 10 different countries, in a thrilling competition that ended last monday. Check the final results here:
