Sagres Fortress

The Sagres Fortress is a very interesting spot to visit in Algarve. You'll get the chance to enjoy an amazing view of the Atlantic. 




It was builded by Henrique, the Navigator, request on the 15th century and it was a very estrategic place to Portugal for commercial exchange, between the Mediterranean, thee Atlantic North and to the North of Africa.

It was also the center of a strategic defensive line ver the coast of Algarve.

 

There was a lot of strutctural changes through the years, so it was only finished by the 18th century.

 On the 90's was created an Exhibition and Multimedia centers and also some shops.
